On September 23, 2025, Steering Group member Habeeba Mulla shared her insights into the progress of disability representation in children's books in a Comment piece for The Bookseller.


"Over recent years, it has been brilliant to see that children’s books have zoomed out a little – we are seeing more characters who are neurodivergent, have limb differences and have sensory impairments. But are we seeing disabled scientists on Mars or a teacher with limb difference that also happens to wrestle dragons on weekends?"
